The Role of Leader can be auditioned for. A Clan leader is charged with the responsibility to watch over and manage an entire Clan, maintaining discipline, order, and protection. Leaders are normally granted nine lives and a new name with the ending "-star" in a ceremony where nine Duatclan cats come to them in a dream at the Tear-Pool However, a leader may not receive all nine lives if the previous leader of his or her Clan is still alive; in this instance, a leader will have a life taken off the original total of nine for every life the previous leader still possesses. Sometimes DuatClan will not accept a leader, if this happens then the Clan is usually thrown into turmoil.

>>Deputies,

Deputies are auditioned for, but Leaders as well as Staff get a shared upon as to who is Deputy for the clan. The deputy is the second-in-command to the leader, and are considered in training for being the next leader. They may serve in the leader's place in situations where the leader is unable to fulfill their duties. They are in charge of organizing patrols and they are often called on by the leader for advice, but other than that, they retain the normal duties of a warrior. To be able to become a Deputy they must first have trained one apprentice. When a leader dies, the deputy will go to the tearpool to be granted nine-lives by the DuatClan and become the next leader.

So you want to be a Medicine Cat. Great. Like the other two just fill out the audition form! Please note, Medicine Cats need to have a vast knowledge of both the Egyptian Gods and the Herbs used for healing. They will also have bi-monthly meetings with DuatClan, as well as the Gods and Goddesses to speak about any issues with in the Clans and gain information from DuatClan as well as the Gods about upcoming events. They also are not allowed to take any kind of mate, and it's frowned upon if they have Kittens.
